Mill Pond filling begins.

The Boston Mill Corporation, primarily using gravel from cutting down Beacon Hill, fills the pond. It is completed in 1828. Although intended for residential use, the land is subsequently developed into an industrial and commercial area known as the Bulfinch Triangle.
